Chemo Toweling off The shower sheen I'm forced to notice, See My body. (Can it be my body?) Shriveled From the chemo.Pulling on My soft socks, I cannot feel My toes, As if they are asleep. (Will they wake again?) Nerves raw From the chemo.Combing out my wig, I miss My hair. How I miss My hair; Miss my toes, my body, But if the cancer Dies,I will bless The chemo.Susan Long -- May 2007 |
